World Book Day

In Year Three, the children loved showing off their World Book Day costumes to each other. They loved learning about the author Cressida Cowell and particularly loved reading some of her book, ‘How To Train Your Dragon’. They completed different activities looking at creating their own hero and reading with their buddies.

Year 3 Gymnastics

Year Three have had so much fun working in small groups during their Gymnastics PE lessons.  As a class, the children came up with their routine checklist.  Then working with their group, they created and practiced their routines, before performing them for the rest of the class. Fantastic work, Year Three!

Year 3 Fruit Tasting

Year Three had so much fun tasting different seasonal fruits this week.  They tried apple, pear, pineapple, blueberries and lemons and evaluated each fruit using a spider diagram.  They evaluated the appearance, smell, texture, colour and taste and then decided which was their favourite fruit.  They all had such a laugh when watching each other and their teachers try some lemon!

Junior Masterchefs

This week our Junior Chefs made their own sticky chocolate crispy cakes.  They carefully heated the ingredients on the hob.  Then they added the remaining ingredients and carefully stirred to make sure they were all combined before spooning the mixture into their paper cases.  Well done, Year Three!

Hebburn Lights Switch On

Year 3 impressed us all this evening with their fantastic singing.  They all had an amazing time watching the magician, listening to the brass band and even seeing santa!  Thank you to everyone who joined us, we hope you had as much fun as we did!

Personal Development: Litter Picking

Today in Year 3, we went onto our field, yard and woodlands area to collect litter. We all spoke about why litter is bad for our environment and how it collects germs. We worked as a year group to collect as much litter as possible.

Year 3 Green Treat

Year 3 had so much fun making their own foil balloons today. They designed and decorated both sides before being able to inflate them.

Year 3 also had a go at apple bobbing which they found hilarious and such fun!

Baptism

Today, Year 3 had a visit from Deacon Peter. He spoke to the children about Baptism, including what each symbol means and the importance of this sacrament in the Catholic Church. After this, Deacon Peter joined us to say the Rosary. Thank you for visiting Year 3 today; we all had a lovely morning.
