Year One used flags to create a liturgical dance to the Our Father.
Year Two have enjoyed a very exciting Green Treat this afternoon. They all got changed into their pyjamas and watched the Polar Express. They all got a delicious hot chocolate and an ‘I believe’ ticket at the end of the show. Keep up the great behaviour Year Two!
Last week, the children in Year Two enjoyed visiting Hebburn Cemetery. They enjoyed listening to Deacon Peter and then shared a few songs with the local community.
This week, year two were very lucky to have a special visit from Father Simon. He specially came into school to talk to the children about Baptism. The children had lots of fun dressing up and acting out a Baptism using Buzz Potato Head as the baby! Prior to the visit, Year Two prepared some questions and found out lots of information from Father. We would like to say a HUGE thank you to Father Simon for providing us with so much information.
Before half term, the children in Year Two sent off their innovated Perfect Pirate Guides to different companies which sparked their interest. We were delighted to receive some replies in the post this morning. We had a post card from a shopkeeper, a letter from Newcastle United Football Club, a card from Edinburgh Zoo, a letter and two cinema tickets from Odeon and a letter from Vets4Pets.
Wow! We are so grateful for taking your time to reply to our leaflets and we are so pleased that you enjoyed them.
The children in Year Two have been very busy practising lots of songs based around the theme of ‘Friendship’. To show off what they have been doing, we had a choir concert held at school. The children were fantastic and their hard work certainly paid off.
In Year Two, the children have loved learning about Living Things. This week we have been learning about things that we can categorise as living, non-living and never been alive. The children completed some work organising things into different categories. Then, we all decided to go on a hunt in the Secret Garden. They all enjoyed looking for living, non-living things and things that had never been alive.
Year 1 visited Adventure Valley on Monday for their end of year trip. They had such a fun day exploring and their behaviour was exceptional. They enjoyed playing in the different playgrounds, bouncing on the pillows and seeing the animals. It was a lovely way to end their Year 1 journey.
Today some children from KS1 had the opportunity to take part in a football festival at Mariners Park. They had lots of fun trying out different activities. Mr Hunter, Mrs Kish and Miss Cunningham were proud of them throughout as their behaviour and manners were excellent.
